We compare current base/on-road price context, battery/range choices, family packaging, controls, charging and written grant treatment. Quotes must be like-for-like on wheels, options, delivery and finance.

Where the ID.4 wins
The current entry point is materially lower, and the 52 kWh Pure can suit a home-charging buyer whose regular trips fit it. Volkswagen's Irish network and variant choice make test-driving straightforward.
Where the Enyaq wins
The Enyaq's packaging is the reason to pay more: inspect rear space, boot access and standard equipment rather than assuming platform siblings are interchangeable.
Decision
Choose the ID.4 when the lower configured cash price and local dealer support dominate. Choose the Enyaq when the cabin/boot advantage and equipment on the comparable written quote are worth the premium. From 1 August 2026, recheck the €50,000 M1 grant cap after options.
